Mike Thacker
Mike has worked in theatre sound for more than 20 years, beginning his career mixing major musical productions in London’s West End before moving into sound design and production for musical theatre. His work has spanned a wide range of live and recorded audio disciplines, including award-winning musicals, plays, and immersive events. Through this diverse experience, he has developed a broad skill set that now informs and enhances his primary focus: musical theatre sound design.
As a highly experienced Sound Designer, Mike is committed to delivering the highest standards of production, creativity, efficiency, and workflow. He values seamless collaboration with directors, producers, and musical supervisors, ensuring that every project achieves its full artistic and technical potential.
Mike is also Head of Design and Education at Orbital Sound, a role that reflects his passion for sharing knowledge, developing talent, and supporting the continued growth and success of his teams.
